Who is, Professor Sveinn Vidar Gudmundsson?

Sveinn Vidar Gudmundsson was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Smith School from October 2008 to June 2009.

Sveinn is Senior Professor of Strategic Management at the Toulouse Business School in France and Vice President (Publications) of the Air Transport Research Society. He has contributed extensively to air transport and aerospace industry scenarios and out-of-box workshops with the Advisory Committee for Aeronautics Research in Europe. His work has also included projects such as incorporating industry scenarios into economic impact analysis for European air transport and acting as a member of the Environmental Trading Scheme Group, providing advice on research issues arising as a consequence of environmental trading applied to the air transport sector.

He has edited or co-edited over fifteen special issues of various academic journals covering air transport research, intermodalism, public transport management, and environmental issues. Sveinn has over 70 publications to his name in various academic and trade journals. He earned his doctorate from Cranfield University. During his visit at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment, Sveinn will continue his work on strategy design for transport enterprises responding to environmental and energy challenges. He will also edit a special issue of a journal covering public transport management and work on a book dealing with sustainable future transport systems.
